Prof. Kofo Ogunyankin
Co-Founder
Dr. Kofo Ogunyankin the Co Medical Director is a cardiologist and a
specialist in echocardiography. He trained in the United Kingdom being a
member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1991 as well as State
University of Stony Brook Long Island New York, University of California
Los Angeles (UCLA) and Tufts University New England Medical Center
Boston. He has been in academic practice and worked in Columbia
University New York, Queens University in Kingston Ontario Canada,
Northwestern University and Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute Chicago.
His research interests include early detection of heart disease
including hypertensive heart disease using echocardiography.The
echocardiographic laboratory at FCC is now the only Center in Africa
designated by the World Alliance of Societies of Echocardiography (WASE)
for the international multicenter study for deriving normative values of
various echocardiographic measurements.
Dr. Iyabo Obasanjo is an Associate Professor at William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia where she teaches
Public Health courses. She got her PhD in Epidemiology from Cornell University in 1996, and a Masters from
University of California, Davis in 1992.
She also earned a Doctor of Veterinary degree from University of Ibadan in 1988. She worked in Clinical
Research as a Project Manager in the US until she moved back to Nigeria to be Commissioner for Health in
Ogun State (2003 to 2007) then a Senator (2007 to 2011).
She returned to the US at the end of her term in the Nigerian Senate and was an Advanced Leadership
Initiative Fellow at Harvard University for 2 years. She has given lectures across the globe and has over 25
scientific publications, and has written a memoir, and an introductory Public Health textbook (Global Public
Health, published by Cognella Press). She has also written for Nigerian Newspapers and international foreign
policy journals.
Dr. Segun Toyin Dawodu
MD, LL.B, MBA, LL.M, MS, AKC
Dr. Dawodu graduated from University of Ibadan Medical School, Nigeria and had his postgraduate residency
training in Orthopedic Surgery in the United Kingdom under the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh with
subsequent residency and fellowship training in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, Sports Medicine and
Pain Medicine at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY.
He is board certified in Rehabilitation Medicine, Sports Medicine, Pain Medicine, Clinical Informatics,
Spinal
cord injury Medicine and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He has a first degree in law (LL.B) from University of
London
with additional specialization in Medical law/intellectual Property Law (LL.M), a second LL.M in
International Corporate
and Commercial Law from King's College London Dickson Poon School of Law, an MBA from Johns Hopkins
University Carey
Business School, Baltimore, MD and MS in Medical Informatics from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL
He is currently part of the first cohort of University of Oxford Said Business School and Nuffield
Department of
Primary Health care program in Masters of Global Health Leadership Program (MSc). He is also an Associate of

Dr Peter Eweje is a practicing gastroenterologist in the United States of America. He has been in private
practice for over 25 years. He graduated from College of Medicine, University of Ibadan in 1986 before
proceeding for his postgraduate training in the United Kingdom in 1990. He completed his specialty training
at Nassau University Medica Center in New York in 1997. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians,
United Kingdom, and a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
He has managed his own gastrointestinal practice for the last 25 years taking care of patients on the east
coast of North Carolina. He is an avid clinical researcher acting as a Principal Investigator on at least 40
clinical studies, striving to improve the knowledge and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases in his
patients.
He has lived in Jacksonville, North Carolina for the last 25 years where he is actively involved in various
community activities. He has also participated in many medical trips to Nigeria and Ghana with the goal of
impacting knowledge and helping in the management of gastrointestinal diseases at various teaching
hospitals.
